Nicholas's narrative is really captivating because it describes the tension on her part about having excellent academic writing ability but not passing writing test. The flow of ideas is good and tractable. ' "I decided to quit trying so hard.Apparently-I told myself-the people grading the test did not have the slightest clue about what constituted good writing''
Only taking the above stance she could successfully pass the third exam.Believe or not but I had the same problem with my Public Communication 210 which I did not know how to present my narrative speech and usually ended up with C. I was really concerned about sentence that I was going to use for my narrative.I even felt shy and timid. Finally,I found out that I was overconcerned and need not work that hard. The next class it turned out that I got A for my informative speech by just speaking extemporaneously.Nicholas's narrative is a valuable lesson as we,students, come across these experiences a lot in our college life where we think that we will succeed in something without the slightest doubt but which, actually, turns out to be the opposite.

Ironic experiences of college life
This is a narrative story by Shannon Nichols commenting about the Proficiency exam on which she did great on all sections but failed in the writing section which she thought to pass without a big deal.Even though she took the test the second time she failed it again which was really disappointing but surprisingly she got through it the third time because she showed less concern.
